Soy Amado No.49

Now if you come on holiday here and hire a car, you'll get one with an 'H' on to denote it's a hire car.

So, if you've got a reluctant quilt holder upper with you, they are well versed in spotting cars with an 'H' on them. They will continue to hold said quilt up while helpfully adding 'It's OK, it's only holidaymakers...I'll never see them again.'

So if quilt holding upping necessitates standing in the middle of the road to get a good shot and you spot a car with an 'H' on coming towards you...

...it really is no cause for alarm because by the law of averages you're never going to see them again.

Yes, I know, the hearts are upside down.

  1. And because they're holiday makers they probably think it's some local custom and the quilt (and holder upper) have right of way so no need to jump out of the way from a safety point of view, either!!

Quilt 49 is wonderful! You're almost there - keep going, you can do it!!

  2. Love the vibrancy of this one! And I really like the lines of the pink rising sun type block too!! You're so close, and I like the daredevil quilt holding that's happening :)

  3. What a lovely group of bright blocks. I think they should all be like that for the children. Lively, bright and happy looking. I'm glad your quilt holder-upper has a firm grasp on reality. Did he/she get a treat?

  4. I am so loving the pictures of these quilts. When you publish your book about them the quilt holders will be famous and maybe less grumpy?

  5. I don't know which made me smile more...the quilt or the commentary about the quilt holder! Too funny, but I do love the quilt. I've enjoyed following along and seeing all of them so far.

  6. Another lovely quilt. Each new one that appears on my blog I love as much as, if not more than, the one before. How is that possible when they are all so wonderful?

  7. just found your blog and I am very charmed.

    What lovely quilts!
And how I like all the pictures at the seaside (which "little Island" are you on?)

And you made me laugh saying your daughter texted "holding up the quilts for mum, LOL" (sounds a lot like my daughter, just asked her if she would hold up quilts for me and she answered: "perhaps once...", that's my girl)

And I also laughed with all the feet peeping out from under the quilts, and the dogs standing next to them, looking very seriously.

Nice blog, I'll be back (a promise, not a threat)

  9. You should remind them that when they are 'old' and make quilts that they will need willing quilt holder-uppers too ;)

  12. If I lived on your beautiful island I would proudly and happily be your quilt holder upper. I would care nothing about the license plates. 😊

  15. Isn't that house upside down too? Or just turn the quilt round?

  16. It is quite an idyllic setting you have! My fence and washing line have always been my holders of quilts - maybe I'm missing some new torture to inflict upon my offspring....Hmm! Joyful quilt when all is said and done!
